This comprehensive, pre-wired protection box is the ideal solution for securing and optimising the connection between your battery bank and your solar inverter. Designed for direct current, it ensures a clean disconnection and maximum protection against overloads and short circuits.
Key features:
Robust protection: Fitted with a 125A 2P (two-pole) automatic circuit breaker/fuse, certified for voltages up to 600V DC.
Cabling included: Supplied with four 1-metre cables (35 mm² cross-section). Designed to withstand a current of 125A, they guarantee complete protection against overheating and minimise voltage losses.
Safety: Robust, waterproof enclosure protecting the components. The 1-metre cables allow for a direct, quick and secure connection from the battery to the enclosure.
Recommended use: Ideal for protecting battery banks (particularly 48V or high-voltage systems) connected to high-power inverters.
Battery compatibility: This system is universal (lead-acid and lithium) and 100% compatible with Delong and Leapton batteries.
Battery Box with 2-pole 125 A Automatic Circuit Breaker – 600 V DC + 35 mm² Battery Cables
This complete 125 A DC battery protection box comes with everything you need for an immediate and highly secure connection to your solar batteries. It incorporates a 2P (bipolar) 125 A – 600 V DC thermal-magnetic circuit breaker, ensuring a clean and simultaneous disconnection of the positive and negative circuits. This box also includes 2 perfectly sized 35 mm² battery cables (1 m long).
Thanks to its high rated voltage of 600 V DC, it is suitable for both low-voltage battery banks (24 V, 48 V) and high-voltage systems (Lithium LiFePO₄, NMC, lead-acid, AGM or gel). This unit is a turnkey solution designed to eliminate the risk of overloading or short-circuiting, whilst preventing voltage drops. Simple wall mounting. Ideal for residential installations, remote sites or industrial applications.
Battery compatibility: This universal system is compatible with all battery technologies (lithium, LiFePO4, NMC, lead-acid, AGM, gel) and is 100% optimised for Delong and Leapton batteries up to 250V DC.
Advantages
Robust bipolar protection: 1 x 125 A 2P automatic fuse/circuit breaker, certified up to 600 V DC, to cut off both the + and − terminals simultaneously.
High-performance cabling included: 4 x 1 m battery cables (35 mm² cross-section). The cable cross-section is specifically sized for the current to ensure complete thermal safety and prevent overheating.
Universal and high-voltage compatibility: Ideal for lithium (LiFePO4), lead-acid and gel batteries, and compatible with high-voltage battery configurations.
Ready to use: Robust, waterproof enclosure, pre-fitted for a quick and direct connection between the battery and the inverter.
Installation tips
Ideal location: Mount the enclosure on the wall right next to your batteries. The shorter the cables, the better your system’s efficiency!
Ready to connect: Use the 4 x 35mm² cables supplied to connect the positive (+) and negative (-) terminals of the enclosure directly to your batteries and equipment.
Polarity safety: Before resetting the 2P circuit breaker, take a final look to check that the + and – terminals are correctly connected.
No sparks: Tighten your terminals firmly onto the battery terminals (to the recommended torque) to ensure a perfect connection and prevent any electric arcing.
1. Why is ‘two-pole (2P)’ protection essential for my batteries?+
A bipolar (2P) protection system means that the circuit breaker mechanically, simultaneously and completely disconnects both the positive (+) and negative (−) circuits. In direct current (DC) systems, this is an essential safety feature that completely isolates the battery bank from the inverter, eliminating any risk of residual current or dangerous electric arcing during maintenance work.
2. Which battery brands and technologies is this unit optimised for?+
This universal system supports all battery technologies available on the market (Lithium LiFePO4, NMC, Lead-acid, AGM, Gel). However, it has been specifically tested, sized and certified to be **100% optimised for use with Delong and Leapton batteries** operating within DC voltage ranges of up to 250V DC.
3. Is this unit suitable for high-voltage (HV) battery banks?+
Yes, absolutely. Thanks to its very high maximum rated voltage of 600 V DC, this box is extremely versatile. It safeguards both conventional low-voltage configurations (24 V or 48 V) and modern energy storage systems connected at high voltage.
4. What types of cables are included in this plug-and-play kit?+
The protection box comes with four 1-metre battery cables with a large cross-section of 35 mm². They are fitted with pre-crimped terminals, allowing you to connect the positive (+) and negative (-) terminals of the enclosure directly and neatly to your storage modules and your inverter.
5. Why is the physical location of the box in relation to the batteries important?+
It is strongly recommended that you mount the cabinet on the wall in the immediate vicinity of your batteries. By keeping the length of the connecting cables to a minimum, you reduce the circuit’s natural electrical resistance. This helps to eliminate energy losses along the line, prevent voltage drops and ensure optimal efficiency for your solar power system.
6. How safe is the included 35 mm² cable cross-section?+
At a high rated current of 125 A, a cable cross-section that is too small would quickly overheat and could cause a fire. The substantial 35 mm² cable cross-section supplied in this kit is specifically designed to carry this power continuously, ensuring **complete thermal safety** and protecting your equipment from overheating.
7. What essential checks must be carried out before arming the circuit breaker?+
Before lifting the lever on the 2P thermal-magnetic circuit breaker, you must check the polarity (+ and −) of the entire circuit. Reversed polarity in a DC circuit can instantly destroy your inverter’s circuit board or damage the battery management system (BMS) of your lithium batteries.
8. How can you prevent electric arcing at the battery terminals?+
To ensure a ‘spark-free’ connection, make sure you secure and tighten the cable terminals firmly onto the battery terminals. It is recommended that you use a torque wrench to tighten the terminals to the torque (Nm) specified by your battery manufacturer, ensuring a perfect contact with no micro-gaps.
